Gold prices in Pakistan surged on Monday, December 08, 2025, tracking gains in the international bullion market. The upward trend is largely attributed to a softer US dollar and reinforced expectations that the US Federal Reserve may implement an interest rate cut soon.
According to data released by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the latest prices for gold are as follows:
| Commodity | Per Tola (PKR) | Per 10 Grams (PKR) |
| 24-Karat Gold | 449,900 | 386,114 |
| 22-Karat Gold | 412,423 | 353,950 |
| International Rate | (Equivalent) | $4,214 per ounce |
International Influence: The global spot gold rate climbed to approximately $4,214 per ounce, reflecting increased demand for the yellow metal as a safe-haven asset.
US Dollar & Fed Policy: Gold prices were primarily supported by anticipation of a potential US Federal Reserve interest rate cut. A weaker US Dollar makes dollar-denominated gold cheaper for buyers holding other currencies, which typically boosts demand.
Silver Price: Silver prices in the local market also followed the upward trend, rising to approximately Rs. 6,102 per tola.
Advice for Buyers and Investors
Gold remains a popular investment and a crucial commodity during Pakistan's peak wedding season.
For Investment: 24-Karat gold is recommended for investment purposes as it is the purest form.
For Jewelry: 22-Karat gold is commonly used for making jewelry due to its durability.
Compare Rates: Always compare the daily gold rate provided by the association against the final price quoted by local jewelers, as they may include a premium.
