After a new leak revealed the Xiaomi 17 Max's launch date and essential specifications, the device is back in the spotlight. According to tipster Kartikey Singh, the device is likely to go on sale in China in May. It will be the last model in the Xiaomi 17 lineup, which already includes the 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max, and 17 Ultra.
The Xiaomi 17 Max appears to be more than just a bigger version of the standard model, according to new information. It is anticipated to include an OLED display with a 6.9-inch resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset will run the device. Additionally, a large 8,000mAh battery with support for both 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging is thought to be included in the phone. The camera system is expected to be one of its main highlights.
A 200MP primary sensor with a size of 1/1.4 inches, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with a size of 1/1.95 inches are all mentioned in reports. In terms of camera capabilities, this setup is comparable to the Pro Max variant, but it may lack features like a secondary rear display.

It is anticipated to have a 50MP front-facing camera and run HyperOS 3, which is based on Android 16. Up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage and up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM are two additional anticipated specifications.
The phone may also have dual symmetric 1115 speakers and an x-axis linear motor. The initial leaks suggested a launch in April, but more recent information now suggests a launch in China in May. It has not been established whether it is available in other regions.
